"When it comes to charitable giving in Dubuque and connecting with those most vulnerable and the issues most in need of addressing, no other organization is the tour de force that is Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque."
That's the opinion of the Telegraph Herald's editorial board in regard to the group's Great Give Day this week, in which people can donate to their favorite nonprofits.
"It's fast, it's simple, and it's an opportunity to see the power of people when they combine efforts to help the many agencies that do so much good in our community," the board writes.
The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque has more than $150 million in assets, and more than $7.8 million in grants has been awarded to community efforts over the past 20 years.
"It builds leadership and community connectivity in small towns that need that infusion of fresh air," the editorial board writes.
"The foundation has turned the generosity of passionate donors into real programs and initiatives that help people throughout the area."
